This article from TMZ online, posted early this morning, claims the Gosselin kids have been cleared for working on Kate + Eight. Apparently Kate, who holds herself up as a model parent, still hasn't educated herself about the harms to children of being used in entertainment industry. And whatever happened to Jon's insistence that the kids not be filmed anymore? Was that a sincere desire to do what was best for his children, or was it just sour grapes because he bad-behaviored himself out of the entertainment industry?
The PA Dept of Labor & Industry still hasn't answered the question of whether all TLC employees, caterers, and all others involved in filming the series J&K+8 were cleared for child abuse and criminal backgrounds before being given access - sometimes alone in isolated places including bathrooms, bedrooms, or in the woods - to the Gosselin children.
The disaster continues to unfold.

It will be very interesting to see what Rep. Murt and his committee have to say about this. They were not impressed with the original DOL investigation.I would like to know what, if any, safeguards have been put in place to guard the children's privacy and safety.My speculation is that all TLC had to do was file some forms, and that nothing else has changed.
Were they not impressed by the original DOL investigation? Why do you say that? Inquiring minds want to know!
It's great that they have followed the law for these children. I guess they have their clearances now, right? Is that what this means?

Why don't you spew your sanctimonious bs on one of the many 'I hate (insert Gosselin child's name)' blogs?
There is NOTHING here that even scratches the surface of the nastiness towards those poor Gosslin children on the internet.
This is very sad to hear.
I am still hopeful that Rep Murt is able to get legislation to protect children from these reality shows.
I am convinced that BOTH parents know that their offspring are their little money makers and will continue to use them for the fame and profit it brings them. They have no other talents to enable them to achieve this lifestyle. They both have failed at everything they attempted.

How much are you being paid to stop the internet talk about certain children being exploited for profit? You should be ashamed of your part in trying to quiet the outrage that knowledgeable, child development educated people feel towards any exploitation of children on reality TV.
The Gosselin children will find plenty of negative information and comments on the internet about themselves. I am willing to be the older children have already discovered it.
The ones COMPLETELY responsible for this are their parents, who sold their children's very private moments on film for cash.
This blog has been wonderful in bringing up the issues and discussing them in terms of the effects on children.

Kate's children have not been cleared by the PA Dept of Labor and as a matter of policy, the Dept of Labor does NOT discuss this with outside sources. It's rather telling that this information was posted on a Tabloid website, on a weekend as there are no spokespersons available during the weekend to even disseminate this information to the "press". I find it rather odd that this was posted on a Saturday after word was mentioned that TLC/Discovery/Figure 8 productions still have not complied with the basic requirements to obtain permits for any minor child in Pennsylvania. Believe nothing that you read and half of what you see.

As I said, it's always good to hear the other argument as long as it's a civil discussion. Your apparent need to belittle overshadows the validity of any opinion you might have. Couldn't we talk about this without all of the personal attacks. Really, they serve no purpose.

They were not impressed with the original DOL investigation because even though TLC was guilty no fines were levied and the DOL never went to the home where the filming took place.
Also I'm sure that they were stunned to hear that the 8 children have to SHARE 15% of what their parents were paid to film the family. IMO, because without the kids there would be no show, when I wrote to Rep. Murt I suggested 50% to the kids and 50% to the parents.
Then the final concern was in regards to film cameras being placed in the bathroom. This screams of being MORALLY WRONG! but yet Jon and Kate said OK as long as the check clears.
JMO.

I will reiterate that the Pennsylvania Department of Labor DOES NOT discuss these matters or matters of minor children with the press. The information posted on TMZ.com is false, misleading and without a source. As for TLC/DISCOVERY/FIGURE 8 PRODUCTIONS and the Gosselins and their representatives, there have been no inquiry's, applications, notices, discoveries or petitions filed on their behalf with any matters pertaining to filming in Pennsylvania with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. NONE

Classic narcissistic behaviour is to gaslight their victims, make them think that they are the crazy ones and things could not possibly be as they perceive them. For this reason alone, I for one, am happy that all this information about Kate is out there, because when her children come of age and go in search of the truth, and they will, they will see that it wasn't them that was at fault. You've only affirmed my belief that something has really gone wrong here, and it starts with exploiting children and then trying to cover up that very fact with big and little diversion tactics and sometimes out-and-out lies, some of which have already been proven, but I'm guessing we've just seen the tip of the iceberg.
There is a clear difference between reasoned argument and spiteful name-calling.I am so sorry that none of these people have ever gotten to see or know a competent therapist.They might have learned to deal with their issues to the extent that they were able to control their venomous tongues.They might also have gained enough self-esteem so that the Anonymous ones could proudly sign their name, or a screen name, to their posts.It's even possible that they could have learned to differentiate between reality and fantasy.
There's still time for them to get the help they need. In the meantime I devoutly wish they would not spew their hatred and misinformation all over what was formerly a gathering of intelligent and concerned people.

It's easy to hide behind the clock of anonymity.
I am always fascinated by the fact that the people that are on Kate's side feel the need to name call and attack the commentators that are not pro Kate. However, the flip is not true. Those of us that do not care for (how's that for lightly!) Kate do NOT feel the need to attack Pro Kate ppl personally. It must be the same people going from site to site to defend her. Get over it! THEY put themselves out there!
When a person uses the same name for every comment, even if it's fictitious, you learn their individual opinions on a particular subject. It's the only way to develop an understanding of each other's views and the topic at hand.
When you surf the blogs under anonymous you can say anything, but you have no credibility to back up your comment, nor do you have to take any responsibility for the content of your post, because you have no history with the other bloggers.

I am just going to scroll past "dirt" because it makes me uncomfortable. I am still very interested in the discussions surrounding clearances to film.
Where do Kate and Jon go to get the clearances? Do they need clearances for the workers or for the children or for TLC? It's confusing. If they needed clearances and didn't get them, what should the punishment be? Also, once they get the clearances, can they still film the kids? how do the clearances stop filming?
Please be patient with me. For some reason, I always feel like I am behind.
Good questions, Mocha. I'd like the answers to those myself. What are the rules contained in a "clearance"? What does that mean concerning the kids?
I hope the entry I just posted answers some of your questions about the laws. Let me know if I missed something and I'll try to clarify some more.

To me that is a silly point, as we are all posting under the cloak of anonymity. I do not think that your name is my9cats, is it?
IDModo my capacity to understand is just fine. It seems as if you are ultra sensitive if your buttons are pushed that easily. I can only assume that you only want to communicate with people that follow your party line. Hate is the wasted energy.

We don't want the kids working. How could you argue with that? Oh, yeah, you need you 'fix' of these kids that are not YOURS. It's a sick obsession and all of you "fans" need to find out why you HATE the children so much.
