More "Reality" To Look Forward To

Confirmed.

So much for spending time with the kids, not drawing media attention to yourself, and staying close to home rather than traveling all over the country.

And on top of that, ewwww, the article refers to her as a "reality superstar." Talk about an oxymoron.

Ewwww, is right.

I can't imagine it will last cause we all know she has no talent and can't relate to people!

Yet she's still the subject of magazine covers, paparazzi sites, and oh so many blogs! What could the attraction be? Hmmm?

OTOH, she did it without pretending one of the kids was in a loose balloon.
As long as the face sells it'll be out there selling. If only we could stop enjoying other people's lives and get that involved in our own some of this reality nonsense would fade.

Again- She needs to earn a living. While not my cup of tea and not something I would watch, as long as the kids are not involved, I say more power to her.

Good points. Why not sell if you can? No kids involved = good for Kate + family. She needs to earn a living and this will bring $$$ with time for the kids on the off days. It's not like it takes 40 hours/week to make one of these shows. No script, just suggestions, make-up, filming. Kate never cared how they edited her anyway, right? She'll be one-take Kate. Get it and go home. I'm liking this...

So what if it did take 40 hours a week? Millions of moms and dads across the world work 40 hours a week and more and still have good home lives. Why should Kate be condemned because she wants or needs to work 40 hours a week? There is such a double standard concerning Kate. There are plenty of things to criticize her about, but this isn't one of them.

I'm not condemning her for working 40 hr/week, but applauding that she is trying to get a job that pays well for less time. Good for her. I'd do it if I could.

As long as those kids stay off the air, she can do whatever she wants; however, she has no talent and I can't figure out why TLC is so hot to keep her on the payroll unless they're betting there's a chance they can get Jon to let them film the kids again. Really, her 15 minutes of fame are soooo over.

Having talent is not the point. The point is Kate is in the news and controversial. She gets people talking and watching. It's all about viewers and money. Talent or no talent makes no difference.

Another great point! Look at all the blogs talking about her, and right now, she has no show! You can bounce from blog to blog and find people discussing her clothes, body language, hair extensions, whether she has talent. There is a divorce blog, this not-a-neighbor blog, and blogs where 75%+ posts revolve around the Gosselins. One of the early hate blogs just reopened. Local political people blog about Kate. Look at all the comments she draws on the tabloid sites. TLC would be nuts to drop their star now. Kate is rich and getting richer.

It makes me laugh when those who scream about haters are the biggest haters of all. ROL posters are viscous. One even wanted Jodie and Julies address. Another told Jon that he is going to get his. Meanwhile lies are posted and taken as truth.
If I ran ROL I'd be mighty careful as to what is posted as threatening.

That's CRAZY, my9cats! Who posts private addresses and photos of homes with kids in them online? These bloggers make me nervous.

Any address is fairly easy to find, as long as the person's name and general location is known (and typed correctly). There is an online site that specializes in providing names, addresses, and ages and it's perfectly legal, as the info comes from public records.
I hope the nutcases do not find Jodie or Julie.

ROL bloggers are totally out of control. Today (at last count) there were over 1000 posts on the 'rat under the hat' post. ROL, surprisingly mocked Kate and her 'hair'. I would venture to say of the 1000, 800 were the same sheeple over and over and over again. They are absolutely rabid and me nervous as to what a few loose screws are capable of doing.

my9cats,
There certainly are some blggers who are overinvested in the Gosselins! I can't even follow ROL comments they are too peronal with each other. And I think ROL is stalking Jon, the kids, and Kate. It's wrong so I don't bother looking there anymore.

I never heard of ROL until the Kevin and Jodi interviews. It put ROL on the Gosselin map big mistake. ROL has been exploiting the family ever since because of the 1000s of crazy comments. If anyone over there cared about the kids they would quit looking and commenting. Some fans they turned out to be.

Hey, Werny Gal, any Gosselin news lately? Just curious if you've seen anyone around or heard anything new.

As noted in the article, it's still speculation that TLC's giving Kate her own show. I guess they are waiting to see if enough people forgive and forget that they conspired to deceive viewers about the fact that Jon and Kate were living separate lives. They concealed it for five months, until Jon made a bad play.

Networks ultimately make their money from corporate sponsorship. If it's not worth it to advertisers to be associated with Kate, a new show's not going to happen.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kate has to make a living. If she can do it on a reality show and it doesn't involve the kids, then why should we care. If you don't want to see Kate on a reality show, then don't watch. As crazy at it may seem to many of us, some people will want to see her. Again, why should we care. It's a free country and I think we can all watch or not watch what we want.

Just curious. Do all families with 8 kids need 10K a month to support them? My great-grandparents in Eastern TN raised 12. All became teachers, cops, military. Toss a writer and attorney into the mix.
Although poor, my GG were high on the need for education.

No, my9, just the ones with high-maintenance moms. If Kate still worked at Reading Hospital and Jon was still an IT guy, they'd no doubt have it tight but they'd be fine...good incomes and great insurance bennies for the kids. Imagine how much insurance is for eight kids when you're self-employed. Especially if you're entitled and have to have the absolute best insurance available.
